    Ahead of the 52nd International Paris Air Show that will be opening its doors Monday 19 June at Le Bourget, CNES President Jean-Yves Le Gall gave a conference for the national and international press today. He took the opportunity to address French space policy issues and present the new features that CNES will be showcasing at Le Bourget, revolving around the agency’s signature theme of “Inventing the Future of Space”, in a futuristic pavilion where digital technologies will be centre stage.

    Alors que le 52ème Salon International de l’Aéronautique et de l’Espace de Paris Le Bourget ouvrira ses portes lundi 19 juin, Jean-Yves Le Gall, Président du CNES, s’est adressé à la presse nationale et internationale, mercredi 14 juin. Une occasion d’évoquer les enjeux de la politique spatiale française et les nouveautés que le CNES va présenter au Bourget sur le thème « Inventer l’espace de demain », en y présentant un Pavillon futuriste mettant les technologies numériques à l’honneur.

  3. COP21 space agenda: CNES and DLR reaffirm commitment to developing MERLIN satellite

    In the presence of Thierry Mandon, Secretary of State for Higher Education and Research, and Brigitte Zypries, Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy and Federal Government Coordinator of German Aerospace and Information Technology Policy, CNES and its German counterpart DLR met on Tuesday 8 December at Le Bourget in Paris to reaffirm their commitment to jointly developing the MEthane Remote sensing LIdar missioN (MERLIN) satellite that is set to measure concentrations of methane in Earth’s atmosphere with unprecedented precision.

  4. COP21 gets underway- CNES at the core of the space agenda

    At the COP21 climate conference opening today in Paris, 196 delegations will be working towards a historic agreement. For CNES, which is spearheading the space agenda of the conference, this marks the end of an odyssey started in 1992 with the launch of the TOPEX/Poseidon oceanography mission that has gathered pace this year through strong commitments and agreements secured with the world’s space agencies to combat climate change.
